Every House draws power from a sacred Shade, while the shadeless Thins mine colours they can never use. The story begins with three Houses holding a fragile balance, then disrupts it with a single rumour: the lost Fourth Shade has returned.

Collaboration Under a 72-Hour Deadline

Miki Ovshievich and I developed the film for the fal × Sequoia 72-Hour Video Hackathon. The constraint forced us to make the world legible quickly—clear factions, a strong visual mythology and just enough story to suggest a much larger realm beyond the frame.

From Finalist to fal Feature

The Fourth Shade was selected as a hackathon finalist and later featured by fal. That recognition made the project more than a sprint: it became a compact proof of how collaborative AI filmmaking can establish a distinct fantasy world on an extremely compressed production schedule.
